L.E.A.D
We are LEAD (Leadership, Education, Adventure, Direction), a teen organization for low-income youth in Lane County, Oregon.
Established in 1998 as a partnership with the City of Eugene and Housing and Community Services, LEAD has grown into a vibrant,
community-supported non-profit organization.
Mission Statement
Our mission is to develop the leadership skills of low-income youth, empowering them to address community problems and change
the world.
Who are we?
LEAD is an organization that provides low-income youth with life-enriching experiences. The results speak in the lives of
the participants. One teen, a high school dropout at 14, participated in LEAD and upon encouragement from the program returned
to school, graduated, moved out of a drug-abusing family and is now a college student with a part-time job. Many teens have
stopped smoking, using illegal drugs, and taking psychiatric medication.
